You might try a little hair conditioner, even Pantene works good for most yorkies. It just makes their hair softer, easier to manage and get any tangles out. Also I would recommend blow drying on a lower setting til completely dry. Any dampness will attract dirt and oil much more quickly than a dry coat does.
Those flexible hoses are a great invention!
