We've had steps for many years and Barney and Daisy know the ropes well. When we got Teddy, we put him on the step and lured him up to the bed with food and once he mastered going up, we did the reverse with down. He sometimes leaps over the stairs or jumps off of them but we kept scolding him when he did not use them. It took consistency and alot of yummy treats but all three use the stairs to go on and off the bed.

Good luck, the little steps are great - our set has 5 up to our bed.
