My Lola was just over a year when I had her BAT done. They were pre 43 & post 237. I was very fortunate that I could take her to Dr Tobias at UT. When Dr Tobias first saw her she told me that Lola looked like a liver shunt baby because of her coat. She was also a very picky eater and had a very small stature. I thought she was just a very quiet little Yorkie because she had become more and more docile. She never showed any obvious signs of liver shunt such as seizures or head pressing, drooling, etc., but I just knew something was not right. They did the scintigraphy and it did show a large shunt. Dr Tobias put the ring around it, I brought Lola home 2 days later and it has been the best thing we could have done for her. She now runs and plays and acts like a puppy is supposed to. I wish you luck with your baby...I know how hard this is and how expensive it gets. If it is what she needs, and it sounds like it is, you will not regret doing it...it will greatly improve your baby's quality of life! |
