i do not believe so - has he had his yearly check? Is heart ok no heart murmur - if they do blood work up have the thyroid tested with a 6 panel thyroid. Could be nothing but panting can be a sign of pain. Maybe he was just tired from the playing - my maltese is a panter so some dogs do this to cool themselves off so maybe that is all it was
