At our house we live at, Jackson will sleep GREAT thru the night... sometimes 10 hours or more. Never had any issues. We visit over at my dad's house often (sometimes for 1 or 2 nights at a time) and sleep there... they have 2 dogs and 2 cats. For the first few months, Jackson was totally fine sleeping in my bedroom upstairs there - never was an issue. Suddenly, after they got their 2nd dog, he wouldn't sleep upstairs. He would literally be sitting by the door every night, staring at it, or whining at it, and he even peed on my carpet once which he NEVER had done. I ignored and everything. I exercised him like CRAZY during the day, he was literally go-go-go all day long and should have been too exhausted to care.
My conclusion has come down to he doesn't like that the other dogs and humans sleep downstairs in the master bedroom and he's upstairs. I've resorted to sleeping on the downstairs couch for the past month with him just to get a good nights sleep. I think there's just too much going on in that house. Downstairs, he's absolutely fine. But I did try a few things, such as attaching a leash to him so he couldn't get off my bed and eventually he would just cave and go to sleep. That worked for a while but it was a pain. Goodluck!
