Yours is a personal preferance. However, potential new owners perfer a pup that will be of standard size.

Several reasons. Whether breeding for show or not, if one is breeding , one should be breeding to standard. The line this dog comes from may have larger dogs in it's pedigree. Therefore, limiting the females requring his stud services. So, much more to consider than just putting two dogs.

Though the female controls the pups sizes while in utero, she may concieve several pups. Would she be able to carry 5, 6 pups to term.

With that said, most breeders own their own studs and very rarely go outside for stud service, unless a dog is a Champion, producing wonderful qualities in his offspring.
