I was just playing with my yorkie... he was running around and playing fetch, then laid down for a while. About 30 minutes later we went to bed. He grabbed his toy, trotted down the hallway and jumped into bed and laid there.
After about 10 minutes of being at rest he started panting heavily and his breathing seemed irregular. I rolled him onto his back and began petting him and rubbing his belly and he looked like he was enjoying it and falling asleep, but then began to breathe very heavily and irregularly again.
I gave him a bit of water, which he drank, and laid back down, and he began heavily panting again. I don't understand what's going on. He's never done this before and I'm very worried. He rarely pants, even when he's running around and playing...
(he is 3 years old btw)
