If you haven't heard yet, I am now a part of YTNR! Thanks to Adi-and-Missy for telling me all about them. I picked up a 3 yr old girl named Katie last night who was an owner surrender. Katie has bladder stones and her owner could not afford to properly take care of the problem. She had them for over a year.
She was peeing blood all over the place, it broke my heart. I made her a little makeshift diaper, which she didn't mind wearing. Uni was actually happy and wanted to play, but since katie is not feeling well, obviously she did not want to play.
I am thinking of calling her Keichi, to match Uni's japanese name. I looked up the translation for Katie and ke-i-chi came up, and it means "change will cure" what a surprise!
I brought her to the hospital this morning. They xrayed and found 5 stones. She is on IVs now and they did bloodwork today. Surgery will come tomorrow morning. She really needed medical attention asap. i'm so glad she will be getting it tomorrow morning. Please keep her in your thoughts for a successful surgery!
A few pics. She was really tired last night! She's overweight, so after she gets better we need to get those extra pounds off of her.
