He seemed nice and seemed to like all the dogs (they had 4 total...the mom, another dog, and the two pups). I don't think it was that he was mean to Jack. I think he might just be scared of the deep voice or something.
Potty training goes pretty well 80% of the time. Unfortunately, Jack doesn't "tell" us when he needs to go. I am very good at watching and knowing when he needs to go out and taking him then. I use "potty" as the word and an occasional treat for going. I'm going to start having dh go out with me as much as possible and let him give Jack a treat for going.
Thanks for the advice! Keep it coming! |
Then I would say he will probably be that way. I had a girl that just went to her forever home that was not your typical Yorkie. I got her at 11 weeks old and she would not play with toys. I did all the things to try to "socialize" her and get her to play. She never did. It was just her personality and once we humans finally figured it out, she was much happier with us...lol..she would look at us on the floor "playing" and give us this "you have got to be kidding" look. She was a princess and not a pauper...so she would say...lol. You may just have a little prince that would just rather cuddle.
The housebreaking takes time. Not sure if you wrote or not, is Jack neutered? That can be a major problem when housebreaking. However all babies will make mistakes at that age. Great idea having DH go out with you to potty Jack. He may learn that is it ok to go with either of you outside. I wish you luck on your new family member
