There are times white does come out.
If you look up the history of Yorkshire Terriers, they are made up of several breeds in Scotland. One of those breeds is the Maltese, and ever so often the gene will be more definite.
As time goes on and her coat gets longer, it will blend in.
So yes it is normal.
