this happened to me. trust me i know what you're going through. just have patience because this is all natural.

here's what my hubbie and i would do to help alleviate the crying. (ALLeviate not solve) we would have lewie chase us around the living room to get him tired so he could be so tired and sleep well. (roughly 20 min twice a day) we also had him go on the treadmill for a bit.
there are sites that say put a stuff animal in his kennel, and a ticking clock to mimic his mother's heartbeat. I did those, but it didn't help that much.
the best thing is to wait out this period with patience and understanding. i also had a previous yorkie that helped lewie during the transition.
i'd say the whole ordeal lasted about 3-4 weeks. it's just a really tender time.
that's why it's so much better to get puppies when they're at least 10 weeks. I got lewie at 8 weeks, and I wanted to bring him back to spend 2 more weeks with his mom - but they didnt' allow that.
