I don't know-I mean, Jackson does the same kind of thing. When we walk in the door, he tries to turn around and leave but once I pick him up, he's perfectly fine and wagging his tail and runs to me happily. So I know it doesn't traumatize him or anything but he doesn't particularly like it. I find he's better when I make it into no big deal. As hard as it is, don't nurture her or respond to her wanting you to pick her up because you are just rewarding her for being nervous, fearful or scared etc. I think if you were to walk in there with a nonchalant attitude and be calm and happy, she would probably be less clingy. |
