I am inclined to agree with you. I picked my PediPaws up on clearance for $5.00, just to see if my girls would tolerate it. They love having their nails filed, rather than clipped, so now I am going to invest in a dremel.

The "guard" on the PediPaws is actually a hindrance. So, I removed it.

Still, if anyone can find a PediPaws for $5.00 just to see if their Yorkies will tolerate it, it's fine for a trial, and if they are okay with it, I recommend investing in a dremel.
