Part of why I joined this forum was for some advice. Jack is not your typical Yorkie...he is so happy to be a lapdog! The thing is, he isn't comfortable with anyone else in the household, including my husband. He acts very scared of him. It is very difficult to get Jack to go potty outside if dh takes him out. Why is that, and what do I do about it??
Thanks in advance for ANY advice you have!! |
Hi & Welcome....congratulations on becomming a new Mom...give Jack time, I have had the same thing with my hubby and new dogs coming into the house.....as already mentioned, if your hubby takes him out everyday for a little walk if poss, in a nice quiet place on a one to one basis, Jack will come to look forward to going out with his Dad...As for potty...always use nice voice tones..go out with him every time for the next few weeks..I had to go out every hour on the hour when I first had my little girl..and praised her..use the same word every time...I would use (pee pee jack) over and over and when he pees..I would say GOOD BOY and quickly give him a little treat..he will very quickly associate pee pee with treat...they are clever little munchkins.....
