That is how I slowed down Maximo and discouraged gulping. I put all of his food in a dish and move a few kibbles at a time to a plate, or I hand feed with trick training, or I put kibbles in the Kong. He chews now. The only downside is that most mealtimes are a game that require my interaction. We went from one extreme to the other.
