Meet Chase! He is just a sweetie! I got a call today from our local kill shelter about him. Within 20 mins I was at the shelter, melting over him. A lady had dropped him off (WITH AKC papers, too!) there without even really trying to find a home for him. Apparently she got him as a puppy and he is now still under a year old. He has not been worked with at all. He is not housebroken, not neutered, not leash trained, his hair is really matted in some areas, floppy ears (which are cute but I think I may try to get them to stand), his nails are super long, but he just has the sweetest eyes.
She said she was rehoming him b/c she got a new dog and that he was really aggressive with her new dog. I think the people at the shelter think I am crazy since I already had 4 dogs at home but I see no reason in giving up on the poor guy without giving him a chance in trying to integrate him into our home. So far, he has shown absolutely NO aggression at all... so I have no clue what that lady was talking about.
I plan on getting him neutered next week (my vet is out of town this week) and I am really hoping that it helps with the marking (praise the Lord for belly bands!).
