My groomer gives me a discount too...but it's because I made all the curtains for her shop when she opened up
But she does tell me that Callie Lou is well behaved when I take her in, and I give myself credit for that because like you, I do some grooming myself between her visits. I started when she was a tiny thing with her nails and keeping her ear tips clipped..sanitary cut, bathing, brushing...etc. Then by the time she was ready to go to a real groomer she was used to the sound of clippers and hairdryers and all of that. It really helps.
