Please, please do not take this the wrong way. Please dont "look in on them"
its not enough and that is exactly how I Cookie went missing. I was close enough to hear if any animal like a hawk would have taken him. I would have heard the screams. I was about 10 feet away from view.
I kept checking in on them through my kitchen window. But all it takes is a few minutes for them to slip through a hole. My yard is VERY safe but I still found a small hole.
I will NEVER let them out alone again. I go and I literally stand in the middle of the yard when I take them out. My husband also goes and stands out there. The way I see it if they are not leashed then they are not 100% safe.
Even though a leash can snap, its still the safest.
I let them go out and potty, run and play with them but I am there the entire time.
I would NEVER wish this on anyone. I havent had an easy life like many people here I'm sure and I've had ups and downs in my life but this is the WORST painful experience I have ever gone through. We have had to put a dog down but we knew what was happening and had closure to move on.
