I know what I am about to say can be controversial and there are many opinions on YT. BUT, if this dog is from a puppy mill, to me it is even more a reason to "rescue" him. Many of these type dogs end up in rescues, when they are busted. I would just feel this situation out and if possible ask to speak to the dogs vet to verify health records.
I got my Baxter off of Craigslist who claimed he was product of an "oops litter". Some people will never change & will never understand how important it is to spay and neuter. It is just the way our world is. At anyrate, I can't imagine our lives without him. He was our first Yorkie and I never really understood the importance of a reputable breeder until I got on YT. However, I still think there are good dogs on CL that just need a chance for a happy home. In my opinion they are one step away from a shelter & why not save them before they get there.
