No, you don't watch CSI too much, LOL! and this idea is good when you don't have to worry about dishonest people. Areas where a dog might be lost in a wooded or hilly area, out in the country, or a big dog that runs from strangers, is where the GPS locator is great.
For a Yorkie that's been stolen or picked up and kept, the first thing they would throw in a dumpster is the collar with the GPS tracker. Not a happy thought when you've invested a few hundred dollars to keep an eye on your dog.
There are GPS trackers that are small like the chips and also injected by a vet, but those are running $4000 or more. That's one of the things that I was checking back in December, and I've only seen mention of them in Mexico.
The article in TcPalm is great and no doubt Cookie will be famous when he's recovered. The situation is far from hopeless and Genie is strong enough to keep going.
