some breeders over here will pay for the puppies shots, wormer and flee treatment so the pup wont leave till they are 10 weeks but they are more expensive puppies a lot more expensive by.

a puppies shots over here cost £50 thats included your wormer and flee treament but when the breeders do it they add about £200 to £300 onto the price which i feel is a bit of a rip off.

when i took bella at 7 weeks if i felt when i got her home there was any problems then yes i would be straight back to the breeder and let her spend another 2 weeks with her mum but she was fine better than expected.

anyway iam glad there are people like you that do want the best for the puppy because ive heard some horror cases of pups going as early as 4 weeks and the owners are having to give the pups milk this i find is well out of line and i would never dream of doing this.

anyway hope your all having a good day too
ok most dam will wean their puppies around 5-7 weeks which then as a breeder should have been introducing them to puppy food...from 7-12 weeks the puppy will learn how to socialize with other dog(littermates) and of course human. This stage is very important because they are now exploring anything and everything. This stage will teach them the basic things like different sounds, smell and environment (cement, carpet, tile, grass, etc) They are very active during this phase and will continue to play rough with each other...when and if they bite their siblings to hard the other one will yelp out in pain...this teaches them when playing how much force is use in nipping without it hurting. The also establish rank order. Humans being alpha...mom will teach them that she is alpha...

I know everyone is entitled to their beliefs and opinion and I don't know if any reputable breeder would let a puppy go so young. My opinion is that they are not bettering the breed and money is their motive, since they are ready to get rid of the puppies once mom stops nursing them. And of course that saves them money on the vet checks and vaccines.

I myself didn't know any better when I got my 1st pet. She was toy poodle, my ex bought her from a pet store. She was a good example of a puppy mill pup. Never been on carpet or anything that she was afraid of it when i bought her home that she scared me...she would run in circles around me screaming on top of her lungs.

Then a month later I purchased me a male maltese. And still didn't know much about puppy mills and everything i learn from 10 years ago till now. I bought him home at 6 weeks. I guess I was lucky with him because he was a laid back fella and he barely had any teeth so feeding him was hard until his teeth came in.
