 Paw chewing/Allergies?
Hi,
Within the past few months, my dog has started chewing on his paws. He never used to do this....
I've checked for fleas, tics, splinters, etc and haven't seen anything but redness from where he is biting.
A few months ago, I got his hair cut extremely short. It has since grown back. Perhaps it has to do with this?
The vet said that it could be that Rico is suffering from allergies (such as pollen), and that the paw chewing is his way of expressing it. Has anyone else heard of this? The vet suggested giving Rico Childrens' Benadryl 3x/day, but I think that will make him too groggy. Any ideas or suggestions?
