I guess, the chicken neck was not that much smaller than his own neck, Lol, I'm surprised you never have seen a chicken neck, they are fairly round in diameter, and he tried to swallow the whole thing, and started hacking, I had to pull the neck from his throat. Maybe other dogs chew it, but Joey didn't seem to chew it that much. A larger dog would have no problem, because they have a much larger esophagus. I should add, I didn't cut the neck up, I gave it to him whole. I don't know if this would make a difference, but there is no way, I'd ever try it again.
