So glad to hear he is resting , sleep can do wonders. Also, it's great that you were able to see your own vet - as his health history is there. And it's verrry reassuring that you can head back to the vet by 5 today, if he's not improving - you really have everything covered here for your kiddo .

If this is a bout of bronchitis, the meds can work fairly quickly (if they're going to work) - so you'd see noticeable improvement over the next 1-2 days. Btw, dogs can get very, very scared when their breathing feels restricted (not perhaps w/, say, reverse sneezing - but w/ other types of restrictions, and they want to be held and they shake, just like your guy did).

Hang in there, you'll get him through this .
