Yay!!!!! I finally figured out how to put a personal picture near my name. For all you noobies like my here is what I found.
#1 click on your name - upper right corner.
#2 click Customize Profile -right side below search
#3 under Settings and Options - left side
#4 click Edit Avatar
#5 click Browse
#6 go to your picture and click open
#7 save changes
