I would think so. If mine don't eat what is in their bowl I empty it and always give them fresh. I also wash their bowls every night and give fresh water. I read somewhere that they can get a bacteria infection from day old food and dirty bowls.
I am very careful with that especially since my Daisy has a very sensitive stomach.
