At first, she thought she'd died and gone to Heaven.
I had planned on rescuing a Yorkie when we got another dog However, Ilearned about Cooper and just couldn't let her die!
Cooper was a little mess. She was taken from her litter at about 5-6 weeks

She had no idea how to eat solid food. Her owner quickly grew tired of the puppy stage. So this little 6 week old found herself in a pet taxi most of the day. She was then put outside on a back deck, with little shade, to compete for food with a great dane and a dauchshund. Cooper is a maltese/ shih tzu mix.
I brought her home at 15 weeks with a swollen belly and protruding bottom from a can of Campbell's Chunky she was fed before I picked her up. Poor girl couldn't walk for pooping. I had to pretty much shave her down to nothing due to the matts and poop in her hair. I found a mess of skin rash and fungus. Her ears were hard and crusty. Her skin was covered in bump and blisters.
*Also, found no penis!!! Her previous owners had said she was a BOY

Thus the boyish name.
Lots of medication, and continual training of the basics (how to eat, play, and not pooping/peeing where she sleeps) for the past 7 months, she is bundle of furry joy. It has been a long and often frustrating road, but certainly worth it. She makes life more interesting and keeps mommy on her toes.
She is such a cuddle bug. You can usally find her (like now) laying right next to me.
