Puppies need to spend as much time with mom and littermates as they possibly can, at least 12 weeks... this way they are nutritioned to the fullest by mom, and gain valuable social skills. I also agree that you should take your new pup to the vet within 48 hours of ownership to ensure that your new addition is healthy. Make sure that you sign a contract, to cover yourself in the event of this happening again, that way you're not stuck with a puppy that is sick and you not being able to care for it that way it needs... that's just heartbreaking. |
