Ya know I am 5'1" built pretty tiny and I regularly have carried a bag that is about the same size as the larger bag. I also have a friend that had the London, which is right between the size of the large and the small Alex, and it never felt too big when I carried it. I guess "too big" depends on personal preference
I ordered the Alex small because my babes will fit pretty good in it... But I wouldn't hesitate to order the larger either.
