Many people have big dogs and little dogs. your 45 pound dog could hurt your 6 pounder just asd easily as he could hurt the 3 pounder.
The thing with dogs, unless they are dog aggressive, they will not injur another dog.
So if you really want the dog, take her to your house and see how it goes.
