I have not called the yorkie rescues yet because well I love my dog and want to know who he goes to with the promise that if it is not a good fit they will return him. I am being very honest about the barking and potty issue. also did I mention- he only likes some people- not everyone- strange he has never been abuse as I got him as a small puppy from a breeder. He is a very grumpy little guy.
I do hope though when I find the right home he will turn into a happy dog. So I feel like if I could put 3 yrs into trying to train him- I can put a great deal of effort into finding him the right home. The perfect person: knows and loves yorkies, is okay with a full retraining mission, is okay with allot of barking, I think he might do better with a small pack, would promise to return him if it was not a good fit- please say some prayers for us. And thank you everyone. |
I know you are trying to do the best for him, and bless you for that. However, just a thought, maybe a yorkie rescue who does this full time would be better suited to find a perfect match for him. They would have the expertise to assess his and the owners needs even beyond what you might think of, based on their experience.
It's gonna be hard, no matter how it goes, and I truly wish you and your beloved doggie all the best.
