All my three wear a collar with their name and telephone number tag and Identichip tag on. We use a harness though when taking them for walks. I always think a harness could rub if left on all the time, but it's a matter of choice.
Some don't agree with having their name on tags, but I feel if they were lost and someone found them at least they'd know their name and my dogs wouldn't feel so strange.
