We just returned from a 1840 mile road trip with Sophie. We stopped at rest areas and let her walk around and do her business. She did great. We stayed at pet friendly hotels and it worked wonderfully. We stayed at Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn and Best Western. All of them were very nice places (updated, clean & smelled good) and they all allowed Sophie to stay in the room while we were out for a little while for dinner and such. Sophie wasn't ever alone for very long. She stayed in her doggie den and napped and housekeeping was able to come in to clean the room. Not a peep out of her, she was terriffic.
