I give mine lambs ears to chew. They are actually safer because as they soften, they shred into small "stringlike" pieces that are easier to swallow and digest.... instead of breaking apart into large chunks that a dog could easily choke on. They are also easier to cut down to size for smaller dogs. So much softer you can easily cut with scissors. My dogs love them!!
