I am just curious. I don't have a female that I breed, however in my local newspaper (small town), someone from a larger town is advertising a male for sale and listed a website to look at pictures. I am not wanting to add another pup, but was curious. Looking at the website, it appears there is only 1 female and 1 stud. The puppy that is left is from a litter that was born on 1/29/10. In looking through the photo album, the last litter was born 5/17/09. Ok, I'm the first to admit I know absolutely nothing about breeding... don't even know the gestational period for dogs... but gosh, just seems to me that this poor momma dog is no more done having her babies and whelping them than she's pregnant again and at it again. Is this normal?

Like I said, I am not in the market for another furbutt.... just curious and felt sorry for this momma. Just seems to me like her body has no time to heal/recoup from pregnancy then she's bred again. But, I could be way off base.
