Dont forget some toys for stimulation and fun!
I would not put a crate on the bed.... I prefer to use an expen when they are small... this way they have access to food, water, and their pads all night... but you can do a crate as well, you just need to get up during the night at least once and let them out at the beginning.
With a puppy that small a car harness may not work out... you may just want to look into a sherpa type bag that you can easily buckle into the seat... it will still be safe for the dog and probably much more comfortable.
Get stainless steel or ceramic dishes...I learned the hard way that plastic can cause warts.
