I just got home from a trip to Wisconsin. I didn't even bother to ask if I could take Abby out. I kept her in the bag until right about take off. Once the attendant did a final seatbelt check, and the pilot announced, "prepare for take off" I took Abby right out and put her under the blanket. She slept the the entire 4 hour flight from MN to CA. Same as when I went to NY. And most of the time I don't put her back during landing. She just stays on me until we are on the ground and before the attendants have time to get up, she is back in her bag. I do try to be courteous to the other people next to me. I ask if they are allergic and then once seated I politely whisper if they minded if I put her under the blanket. Most people think the dog is so cute, they want her out so they can see her. I haven't had anyone say anything to me. But my hubby did have a psycho woman say something to him about being allergic. Long story about her, but the attendants flew so much with this customer they called her "Sybill". So I know it wasn't my husband.

Remember, it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission!!!
