Thank you everyone for all of your help. I love this site for that reason. I took Sophie to the vet, and sure enough she has a bacterial and yeast infection in her eye. The bacteria is in the eye, and the yeast being on the skin around the eye from all of the moisture. He gave me antibiotic drops for in the eye, and an antifungal ointment for around the eye. After just one dose, the odor was almost completely gone. After this is gone, (about a week), on his advice, I will continue to wipe her face daily with a warm washcloth then comb through, dry the area, and use a small amount of petroleum jelly under the eye as to not allow the tears to lay on the skin causing moisure i.e. (yeast infection). So, if you smell something bad coming from anywhere on your dog, take it to the vet!
