If they are both registered with the AKC you could then have the puppies registered with the AKC. If only one is registered with the AKC then you can't.
Most people, I would think, when buying a purebred dog and spending money on a puppy are going to want AKC registration.
With AKC registration you know that the dog is purebred and will know their lineage. This way if you dog happens to have health problems you are able to go back to the parents, grandparents, etc to see if they also had certain issues or try to see if it is genetic.
I know me personally, if I was to ever buy a dog again, I would not ever get one without AKC registration.
If you are breeding dogs and don't have AKC registration (there are even some that do) it just screams back yard breeder to me.
So, yes you could breed two unregistered dogs, if that is what you are asking. |
