i would have to say that if they don't greatly improve in a few hours do not give up so quickly. perk up is the best word here yet, lol. i wouldn't give up on them so soon if there are no other signs of stress and only weight loss. i've saved 5 different puppies in my time that lost down, gained back, lost down again...and i worked and worked with them and had vibrant babies, healthy, good weight in the end...
never give up unless your instincts tell you it's hopeless... or your vet.
sometimes mom herself will let you know by ignoring or carrying certain babies away from the rest...has happened to me and was a sure sign there was no hope.. keep us updated.
