My Zoey is only 4 lbs. but she's a very aggressive chewer. I found she was tearing off long strips of the bullies and swallowing them down whole...like pieces of spaghetti.
Everything is food to her.
I figured, well, they're digestible, so no biggie...though it did give me pause.
Wouldn't you know...one day, she came over to me at top speed, looking desperate and making a sort of whining sound. I stuck my finger back in her throat and felt just the tip of one of those strips that was NOT going down.
I couldn't get hold of it, so I pushed it back hard and felt it go in. She was happy and all was okay, except, of course, for my nervous system. Geez.
Needless to say, I'm scared of them now. I'm sure they're fine for a different type of chewer...but definitely
not my little Zo. Too bad, too...she absolutely adored them.
