Unfortunately I am not familiar with AAI but I do know that upper repiratory infections are contagious. I got a new puppy from a shelter that had it (he was a carrier w/ no symptoms initially), and he made my other dog sick. Then.. the puppy started exhibiting symptoms too! So I would recommend keeping your baby separated from other dogs. I never used a vick's vaporizer, but I have heard of people using that as well as hot steam from a shower to ease congestion.
