Reesie does the very same and she's treated like she's the Princess of the house. She was older than 4 weeks when she came to us so I don't think age is a factor.
Your son should be given a talking-to. If you look at Reesie's pics on our profile you'll see a black and white of my old Ginger. She passed from bladder cancer in 1998 and just loved the heck out of me. But my son had a bad habit of chasing her around and blowing trumpet at her with an empty paper towel roller. One day she just walked away after he did that and I looked all over for her. Finally, I looked way down the street and there was poor Ginger, just walking down the sidewalk running away from home. I ran so fast to get her and she just stood there looking at me with those big brown eyes asking "Why does he do this? It scares me'. My son never did THAT again.
