I am glad you got a lawyer. Make sure all of your responses to her are in emails and very professional...Save everything...and most of all...MOVE ON. I know it is breaking your heart for her little dog but you can't do anything for the little one.

I have to say my first thought was this woman could have been raped (high rise apartment, scared to death her keys were gone, etc) but when you wrote about how controlling she was with her dog, I figured something else could have happened to her to make her this way. You can't help her and it is important you stay well and happy in your life.
