Yorkie Rescue Colorado …. As many of you know, our President/Founder, Trish Rose lost her battle with cancer on June 18, 2009. She worked tirelessly to establish her rescue and that work continued up until just a few days before her death. Trish was the driving force within the Rescue and the rest of us were merely cheerleaders, sounding boards, helpers and always there to help her realize her dream … she was it’s heart! We are very proud of her accomplishments and there are 78 grateful little Yorkies and their forever families whom I am certain feel as we do. During her life, Trish was always eager to share her wealth of knowledge and experience on a myriad of topics. Her favorite, of course, was Yorkshire Terriers. She took particular interest in a small rescue which was began shortly after YRC and was facing much the same struggles as we had here in Colorado. That rescue was Oklahoma Yorkie Rescue and she offered to mentor them and help with anything that she could. We didn’t have any money but we sure did have lots of information. She was very proud of all the hard work they have done and all the animals that they have helped. She was fond of saying that we “thought outside the box”! It is the decision of the Board of Directors that, in order to preserve Yorkie Rescue Colorado’s mission, the impecible reputation and good name of our founder, Trish Rose, that YRC’s best interest would be served to begin dissolution. To carry out the dissolution of a 501(c)(3), certain guidelines are required. We believe that Trish would approve our decisions and after much consideration, we unanimously voted to turn over all assets to Oklahoma Yorkie Rescue in it’s entirety. We will maintain our website as a tribute site in perpetuity to Trish and all her hard work and OKYR will also have a tribute page on their website for Trish. One thing is for certain, Trish will forever be missed and will always live on in the hearts of those of us who loved her.
