Thanks for the reply. I am not going to be getting a puppy, but a rescue dog. This may be blasphemy here, but, I am looking at a silky. My remaining dog is a dog that I rescued in 1995. She howls when I leave the house. She howls sometime at night when I go to bed. I don't want her to be alone, but I don't want to stress her either.
