My Lexie is now 3 years old and we've had quite a time potty-training her - I could have written your same problems not long ago - but we are somewhat under control now. I had her in the smallest crate possible (nights only) and sometimes she would still even go - even after taking her out at 10 p.m. and getting up at 5:30 a.m. I think it just takes time and a lot of patience!!! However, with that said, I still take her out every 2 hours when she is home with us - I cannot trust her completely. She will go sit by the door and will go potty at the door if I don't see her, so I continue to take her out a lot. I do somewhat restrict her water about 5 p.m. if I notice she is drinking too much and that has helped. Finally, though to save us all a lot of anxiety, I have her in a ex-pen with potty pads and if she absolutely has to go, then I just throw out the pad. I am now getting up at midnight to let her out to potty and she's dry until 5:30 - it's kind of a pain, but it works for both of us. I'm just hoping eventually she'll be able to go even longer. I just don't think they have very big bladders. I wouldn't give your baby the run of the house though - she is still very young and they drop and go so quickly. I feel your pain!!! But hang in there, it will get better.

I need some help/advise for potty training my 9 month puppy Hailey. We have had her since she was 4 months old. I work at night so I am at home during the day with her. She also sleeps in a crate at night. She did not go in her crate at all. We let her roam the house as long as we are watching her while we are at home. She is a quiet little dog, does not bark to go outside or let us know when she has to go potty. I have to constantly take her out just to see if she goes. She will sometimes just quietly stand by the door, but does not say a peep.

Now, this past 2 weeks she has lots of accidents in the house and in her crate, I am so confused. It is not one specific spot, but anywhere she feels like it. I just don't know what to do. I now keep her with me at all times so I can watch her, so she can not sneak away. When I take her outside she does go potty, I also only feed her in the am and pm (and take her out after she eats) and her water dish is out for her but monitor her and take her potty accordingly.

Any thoughts on what I can do to potty train her so I don't feel like I am hover over her, plus so I can go into a different room of the house and not worry she will pee somewhere for that brief time.

Thanks for any suggestions!
