| Thanks for all the advice, guys! I really appreciate it. I am going to try to get up to Tahlequah and take a look at the facility between now and June. I've also emailed them with my loooong list of questions!
Unfortunately, my husband's family aren't exactly "dog people" (they don't dislike them, but they just don't get being a puppy parent), so having someone else look into the K-9 Acres place isn't really an option. I do have family about two hours away who would take her, but not only does that mean a lot of extra driving for me (it's the opposite direction from Tahlequah) but I'd also be almost four hours away if something happened to her. Being able to have her close by is a huge plus, even if it does mean boarding her.
As to just renting a room from a different hotel...we seriously considered that. But it's a lot more expensive than boarding and she'd have to spend so much of the time penned up since we'll be doing the reunion thing...which includes a river rafting trip and I'm just not subjecting her to that!!
And the puppy-sitting trade-off thing would be excellent idea!! We just moved to this area so I've not met anyone yet that I'd trust enough to watch Chloe while we were gone. Thanks so much for being a sounding board to my dilemma! It's nice to have folks listen who understand just how big a decision this is and how much we worry about our Yorkies!
