Grain-free kibble isn't recommened for puppies - too much protein.

I have two dogs that eat from the same bowl and I feed them Evanger's Pheasant and Brown Rice. They like it and do well on it. One of mine has an allergy to chicken so we had to chose something that was chicken-free. The kibble is small, too so they can pick it up easily. They offer free samples, too. It is an all life stages formula as well.

When I was looking for a good all life stages formula, I tried to get as many samples as I could before choosing one. Some high quality brands that offered me samples were:

Evanger's
Natural Balance
Wellness
Innova
Sold Gold

When you are looknig at all the different varieties, remember that just because a kibble is labeled as "puppy" or "adult" doesn't meant it is strictly for that age group. Always check the back of the bag (or website) for the AFFCO statement. If it is an all life stages food then it will say so - or if it is just for puppies or adults. I know Innova has a puppy and adult formula that are both ALS. They only use those labels for marketing.

Good luck finding the right kibble.
