My philosophy is that pups are like toddlers - I couldn't leave anything out that my toddler would get into and I have to do the same with Rowdy - anythng that I leave out where it is accessible is pretty much my fault. I also agree that as little "alone time" as possible is a good thing. One last thing, as the old saying goes, a tired pup is a good pup - so whatever you can do to burn up that excess energy will help
